These are great posts ....and demonstrate the much under used facility in PlanePlotter which allows us to track the profile of anything sending Mode A/C within range of our receiver
A few weeks ago we had a B2 depart the UK after appearing at the Fairford airshow.
He was of course flying without his Mode S switched on....but the instant he sent a Mode A sqwk it was possible to get a brief fix on his position
The B2 only cycled his sqwk for a very short time , but enough for Beamfinder Plus to grab him.
Regular visitors to the UK are U2s on rotation.
About 50% send Mode S , the others don't
