Nothing has changed with Plantation except the control channel.
If you have the 4 freqs used in your scanner you would have no problem.
Current control channel = 859.2625
All channels = 856.4125, 857.1375, 858.2625, 859.2625.
They will soon be changing to a P25 system.

No UPDATES DB UPDATES BUT today a call on the plantation pd dispatch BSO was in a chase passing plantation today and the dispatcher replied this is our old main channel and may not be monitored all the time so something is getting changed

Plantation PD
At first glance it seems that Plantation PD has switched to the new Broward County P25 system.
Their site is using 856.4125 as the control channel.
TG 5901 is PD Dispatch.
Oh the bad news.
Seems to be full time encryption.
You can not hear the dispatcher or units.
But you can visually follow it on Unitrunker.
Haven't run down FD yet.
Could be on Fort Lauderdale FD P25.

I am getting conflicting information on if the PD is Encrypted. A DSD+ user says they aren't encrypted yet others seem to say they are. Which is it?

OK. PD is not Encrypted. Except for K-9 and a few other special talkgroups.
The new scanners should have no problem picking up Plantation, as long as you are within range.
However the older scanners, like the BCD996XT, will not pick them up.
At first it will look like it does. You will see the System and site info. You will see it follow the talkgroups.
But you will not get any audio. Why? Because they are using SLOTS and the older scanners will not do that. So although you can pick up Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale on the older scanners you can not pick up Plantation PD.

Thanks Jan tor straightening that out. Now I can kill the system in my 396XT and GRE PSR-500 Definitely will keep the ones in my 436HP. I find it sort of funny how much P25 Phase 2 sounds like DMR with Slots but no Color code.

Plantation FD
Plantation FD is still on the Moto Type 2 old system.
They have not switched to the P25 yet.
It was supposed to take place this week.
Unless it will happen over the weekend.

It will happen pretty soon. There was a slight issue that occurred during the programming of the new APX's. Once they fix it they will switch. Being fixed as we speak. This only affects the Fire radios, obviously the PD radios are fine.

Plantantion Fire has made the switch to the new P25 system. They are runnning TDMA.
