Please Help Granny Get a New Scanner

Greetings from PA.

I got a phone call that my grandmother in law needs a new scanner (most likely a handheld), and of course it is my job to pick one out. She lives in Seminole. Can anyone give me a heads up of what she needs for Seminole and what she may need to pick up traffic from the surrounding area. Can she pick up anything from OKC or is she too far away?

It appears most fire and policein Seminole County is on VHF and UHF. A simple handheld with no trunking might work.
The nearest 800 Mhz OKWIN semi-statewide tower looks to be in Shawnee. I doubt you can hear the Ada site without an outside antenna.
