I live in the southern part of my county, and like to listen to the county just south of me, but i pick up a township about 50 miles away on the same frequency. Is there any way that i can only listen to what i want to hear? Thanks for any help.

Yes, but you'll need to be more specific with the details. What model scanner? What agency do you WANT to hear?

The typical method of doing what you want is to program a CT or DC code for the desired channel. Usually a nearby agency will use a different code and the scanner will ignore it.

Welcome to RR

You will receive more help from the members of this organization than you can imagine. However we need more information from you. When you ask a question you must supply as much information as is possible.

First of all we need to know what type/model of scanner are you using?
Secondly we need to know exactly where you are located. For all we know you could be in Florida or Alaska.
What is the organization that you are trying to monitor. As you can see this information is not in your original question and we can not answer you.

CTSS Tones

If your scanner decodes Ctss tones turn it on and see what tone comes up with that frequency, then program the ctcss tone with the scanner frequency and your set to go.

If the database here lists the correct PL/DPL tone. Program that in with the correct freq and your all set.
