Please help Uniden 396 T

Hello,
I have a Uniden 396 T and trying to change the back cover plate . I have all the top and middle of it separated but the Bottom section I can't figure how to get it loose so i can just put on a new back cover Please anybody done this before ?. I think i am posting in the proper place ?

Once you remove the six back screws You need to compress the negative battery contacts so they flatten, then pull gently at the same time . It should separate.

There are two screws under the battery cover, make sure you take those out also.
