Plug in AC adapter on BC246T, reception become fuzzy,RF Hum?

When I plug my 6V 500 mA AC adapter into the BC246T, the scanner reception become's fuzzy or distorted, like I was getting a channel from far away,(possibly RF Hum am told?)! Then I take the plug out & the radio reception is OK again!!
As any have this problem with there BC246T?

P.S: I tested the voltage comming out of the AC Adapter & it measure at 10.30 Volts, which I belive is about normal?

Sounds like your AC adapter is bad in some way. Is it the correct voltage and amperage called for in the manual? Is the connector the correct size? If so, then try another unit with the correct specs and see if you have the same problem with it. Oh, and do you get any indication of a problem on the display? I had a friend who brough his SC-150 to me with a similiar problem. I noticed every time we plugged the adapter into the scanner, the low battery icon came on. It turned out that his AC adapter was failing, and was only putting out a few volts, just enought to make it seem like it was on but not enough to make the scanner work. A new AC adapter solved his problems.
