Polk County Fire/EMS new digital system

I see that PCFR/EMS has a new digital system. Was just wondering when they are going to switch over to the new system. Thanks

Not a new system... they're gonna try reconfiguring the existing system to digital. Same sites, same freqs. They've already got digital talkgroups on the system. Just a matter of adding fancier radios....

There certainly is a new digital Project 25 Phase I (FDMA) system in place in Polk county with system ID of 397. I was in Florida last week and confirmed the system on my Pro 106. There was no voice activity but the control channel was active.

The cc is not really "active" yet, as it is pretty much silent - does not yet exhibit the typical cc "noise."

After setting up the new system in my 396, it picked up 853.850 as cc, but indicated "DAT" on the right side of the screen.
