I am hearing what sounds like a repeater on 151.820 being used by Roanoke County firefighters working with Elliston (Montgomery County) and state forestry units on the Poor Mountain brush fire. Anyone know about the use of this MURS frequency for this purpose?

Poor Mountain fire

Due to the high cost of 800 MHz digital portables for the volunteer firefighters, the Ft Lewis fire department and several others in the county went to VHF portables for their members. The portables have 155.055 programmed into them which is the output of a crossband repeater in Vinton. It rebroadcasts the primary county Fire-Rescue (COFRT1) and Vinton (COFRT7) trunking talkgroups from 800MHz onto the VHF channel. This way the volunteers can monitor the dispatches and if units have marked enroute.

The portables also have several MURS channels programmed into them for use on the fireground and general department chat. They don't have any repeaters on these channels that I know of.

Ft Lewis also has a VHF repeater on 152.330 (input of 157.590) that they use as a "business" or chat channel with the repeater located on Richfield nursing home.

Ft Lewis already had VHF radios in most of their trucks so they could talk to Elliston (Montgomery Co) on mutual aid. So I assume they have added these same channels to those vehicle radios.

1) Any idea what tone is on the Ft Lewis repeater?
2) What other Roanoke County VHF repeaters are in service?
3) Montgomery County: Does the Riner VFD have a repeater as well? Tone?
4) What tone does Christiansburg Rescue use?
5) Can anybody update the database?
6) Did I hear the Blacksburg Rescue now using DCS 503 on 155.145 not 100.0 Hz.

MAN alot of monitoring work for/in NRV. Anybody up for the job?
Heres what I have for Montgomery County, cannot confirm it so I havent submitted it for the database:
155.145 DCS 503 Blacksburg Rescue (Repeater input unknown)
154.430 100.0 Blacksburg Fire (Repeater input unknown)
154.340 123.0 Christiansburg Fire (Repeater input is 159.060)
451.625 Christiansburg Rescue (Repeater input is 456.625)
154.175 Riner VFD (Repeater input is 151.100)

I live in the middle of the NRV ... I'll check all these for accuracy, but off the top off my head (well, my scanner's head lol) I know that these are correct:

> BBurg rescue is 155.145 DCS 503, they have been on 503 for a while now

> BBurg fire dispatch is 154.43 CTCSS 100.0 (correct)

> Christiansburg Fire Dispatch is 453.2375 CTCSS 103.5 (they have VHF low and hi also, I just have to make sure they are still in use)

> Christiansburg Rescue Dispatch is 451.6250 CTCSS 88.5 (new tone!) (all of Montgomery Co, Town of Cburg, and Riner)

> Shawsville EMS 156.165 CTCSS 186.2 (they have another repeater I think but I'm not sure of the input)

> Elliston Fire 155.925 DCS 155 (correct)

let me do some logging and searching and I'll get as much info posted as I can ... its been a busy few weeks for me but I'll do my best :)
