I heard a new callsign on ZLA's UHF high altitude sectors yesterday. The callsign was Popgunxx, don't remember the number at the end. I've looked at various online callsign lists and don't see "Popgun" listed anywhere. Does anyone know who uses that callsign?

Just as a head's up, that sector is FL230 and above, not FL180.
OK, tnx. I do routinely hear traffic below FL230 talking to controllers there, but they're likely transitioning up.
They'll routinely be on frequency at those altitudes...all the basin departures climbing.
What time did you hear that call sign?

Could be... That route would have put him right overhead. Thank you for solving a mystery. Sure sounded like a "p" at the beginning, But AM isn't always high fidelity.

You're welcome. It's hard to tell sometimes on AM, especially the military guys. Not exactly the best sounding radios.
