I heard from a local store owner that the police frequency/channel is back again can anyone verify this to be a fact before I order a new scanner again? Thanks!

I don't know if they are back on there full time but they are using it, listening to them right now. 155.550 ctcss 107.2

from what I was told at a local pawn shop, they plan on staying there on that frequency cause they got tons of complaints. I hope that's the case I called the police department to make sure that frequency was active again and the man I talked to said that is correct and never said anything about it being a temporary thing. I hope it stays because I just ordered a new bct15x today.

Analog scanner owners are lucky that they just don't switch to use P25 in the clear. I guess they can use it as a tactical channel as it is. I've enjoyed listening to the Poplar Bluff police for years and sadly when they went full-time encrypted I assumed the department was becoming corrupted. Hopefully they realized that it is beneficial to allow listeners to hear normal operations. In this case, as a scanner hobbyist, I can accept some encryption.
