Sorry if this is a silly question. The OKC metro has it's share of repeaters, which ones are the more popular ones around OKC/Edmond? And/Or which frequencies are generally used for say the drivetime rag chew?
Thank you.

I assume you are talking ham repeaters? Why not try CB channel 19? :D

Sorry, couldn't help myself.....

The more popular machines here are law enforcement/fire.

Yes sir I was referring to Ham repeaters. Channel 19? What talk to Stryker or listen to his endless commercials? Already running a CB in the Jeep, but want something better. I am getting my license in a couple weeks and am just trying to get a "feel" for things.

When I lived in OKC, the OCAPA 146.82 machine had a good drive time group. That may have changed after being put off the Channel 9 tower since that reduced the coverage.

147.030 was a pretty active repeater. It sits on the KFOR Channel 4 tower at about 1400 feet. I haven't listened to it in a while but I think it still exists. This is probably one of the more active repeaters in the metro.

146.925 in OKC is a good machine, I can get into it from my home in McAlester on a good day. Lots of nice guys on there. Talk mostly about radio related stuff. The PL is 141.3

You should be able to make the Chandler machine as well, 147.360 PL 192.8 W5DQQ & KE5BKO are on there along with a few other guys. Good group of folks. Again, most talk is of radio related interests.

Get a beam & go to the McAlester machine 145.370, PL 71.9. I'm always around.

Good luck!
