Anyone out there have details on the Port Authority radio ops? I don't know a lot about the transit system out that way, just what I can find online.

Looks like there are light rail/subway lines, dedicated busways, inclines, and over the road bus routes.

I am working right now on cleaning up the Allegheny County page to get it better organized. One thing I would like is to have better info on the Port Authority operations.

Thanks,

Ben

I don't listen to the PA, but the problem with the list that you posted from a third-party website is that it may not be currently accurate or valid.

I think Ben is attempting to verify things based upon the RR readership who listen to it firsthand.

OK,sorry about that,I just joined up here today and am not up to speed, and I am pretty new to scanners in general. Great site though,I spent hours on here today and really appreciate all the information and hard work put into it.

K3FS Amateur Radio And Scanner Home Page also links to PAT freqs.

I been scanning for number of years and I liked wpascanner back in the days.,

however as of lately i tend to use k3fs site. he updates frequently.

thing with the PAT freqs. on the bus channels you need PL off to hear both sides of the conversation.

Only thing i monitor is Pat PD channel

Updates/clarifications to previous posts:

452.65 is Harmar Garage Bus Operations
453.05 is Special Events (may not be currently used)
453.20 is Ross Garage Bus Operations
453.30 is West Mifflin Garage Bus Operations
453.50 is Collier Garage Bus Operations
453.60 is East Liberty Garage Bus Operations
470.6625 is Light Rail Facilities Maintenance
470.6875 is the Light Rail Yard Channel
470.7375 is the Light Rail Operations Channel

PAT does not have a 452.60 frequency. That frequency is used by AAA West Penn West Virginia.

Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority operates through the South Hills area of Allegheny County and uses 464/469.00 PL 82.5.

Beaver County Transit Authority operates through the North Hills area of Allegheny County and used 471/474.3625 however I believed they switched to Nextel some time ago.

GG&C Bus Company operates from Washington County to South Hills Village and downtown Pittsburgh and uses 452/457.70 PL 186.2.

I haven't been able to catch this on a scanner, but it sounds like MMVTA switched to digital (based on the audio I've heard while riding their buses) on this frequency. Has anyone in the South Hills area been able to confirm this?

Yeah, they're pretty much unable to be monitored.

Gave a listen to 464.000 today. Sure enough it is either MotoTrbo or NexEdg. It is now digital and not P25. I had heard them on analog last summer. Not usually a frequency I listen to, so I am not sure when they changed.
