No coms heard on PAPD trunk system in a few of days
Anyone known if the their EDAC system is down or if they switch to a new system

If it's the NY/NJ Port Authority, make sure that you have the new freqs after they rebanded.

Their system was down for a while...I haven't checked lately to see if it was back up. But when it was down, they were using their UHF channels....and complaining how bad the coverage was.

the primary system was down, as per the conventional 852.375 pl100.0 i dont know what facility it was being used at. i did not monitor that freq. just noticed it when checking the trunk freq in conventional mode prob a fail safe freq.

The Bus Terminal has their own UHF 400MHz conventional.

With all the money PAPD has laying around it's a wonder they have this ineffective TRS that repeatedly fails!

I say go back to old conventional system with new Interops freqs of their own so that all units assigned to a particular area can talk amongst themselves.

Without any facts backing up, I would not say PAPD has an "ineffective" TRS. Do you work for them? How do you know or not know if it was down because the radio techs need to perform upgrade of equipment?
