Should I be able to just plug the information in from

and be able to here anything. All I keep getting is like static on a couple of frequencies.

Yes you should, especially the Port Columbus air frequencies.

Aaron let me jump in here since I do a lot of airband stuff, all those freq's are active and used daily if not by the minute. VHF airband is the most active around here. Since you are in liquor dry Westerville you will only hear the aircraft not the ground controllers. Since its line of sight communications. You would need some sort of high antenna. Rickenbacker (KLCK) will be a strech to hear when the aircraft are marking on final when they are landing on the "5's"

The Mil Air stuff "200/300 band" is not all that active unless you live near KLCK. And to pick up 121 ops will require a base or attic antenna from Westerville. I have problems picking them up here near Doctors West hospital.

Thanks. I though since they were lower in the bands that I might be able to hear them in Westerville. I actually live up by Polaris so I guess I wont then. On a couple of them the scanner stops on them and its like i hear an open mic but never anything on them

I live up by Polaris too and I can hear the actual tower and approuch controllers on my PRO-93. I use Radioshack's Telescoping Antenna. I can also hear the OSU Airport's tower clearly too.
