Does anybody know where Central Police Dispatch (Nederland, Port Neches, Groves ) and their fire depts moved. I believe they have new frequencies on the same radio tower, but I have not been able to find them. In the RR data base they were listed as: Texas, Jefferson County--Trunked Systems, Port Neches Share-Net

One thing you might check into (this is going to be several steps).

There was a new license issued in July, for Port Neches, WQMF313 under an STA (temporary authorization).
Click on this link to the FCC data.
Now, looking at that license on the FCC site, select the Admin tab.

On the Admin tab, in the section labeled "Applications" (right under the call sign, on the Admin tab page), you'll see an amendment, 0004324676

Click on that.

That will pull up another window. On that second license screen, click the Admin tab. Now, look at the amendments listed, specifically, the STA Justification.

What they are apparently saying is that there are continuing problems with the existing Sharenet system. They are requesting new frequencies to be used for an upgrade to the Beaumont/Jefferson County/Hardin County system, and move the public safety portion of Sharenet over to it.

What you might try is running the Beaumont system in "open" mode (for the older GRE made scanners, or with a wildcard for the Pro-106/-197, pr PSR-500/-600) or in "ID Search" mode for the Uniden made scanners, and see if any new talkgroups for Port Neches, or the others, have started to appear.

Port Neches Share-Net

After posting the original message and doing some (caveman) research, the system will be renamed the Jefferson County Regional Radio System and will include Jefferson County, Hardin County, City of Beaumont, City of Port Neches, City of Port Arthur, City of Nederland, and City of Groves. Licenses modified: WNVF965, WPHA900, WPMJ575, WQBH267, and WQKB845 for merger and implementation of a countywide truunked Reginal Radio System. I believe the new call sign is WQMF313. The control channel is 854.3625MHz. Using just the control channel all users will be heard. I've been using UniTrunker to decode the control data and Pro96Com also, but can't seem to get it going. All of this came from the FCC site and Harris County - Region 51 - Home. Any additional. info, or corrections are encouraged. Thanks

Wow, this all went down in a pretty short period of time. I was just out there a month ago and everything was status quo.

Couple of questions:
-Are the new talkgroups being heard P25 or analog?
-Has anyone local heard rumblings about the system transitioning to full 9600-baud Astro25 trunking? I ask because Motorola obsolesced everything having to do with 3600-baud mixed-mode systems.
-There were a couple of small vollie fire departments on ShareNet.. will they be switching over too?

Good question about the small VFDs. It seems like they have a talkgroup on every public safety and industrial trunk system down there.

Jefferspn County Regional Radio System

I live in Silsbee Texas. I've been studying the two sites in Hardin County. I plan on going to Bragg tomorrow to check that site out as well. I hope somebody has got the Mid-County Area, Because I would like to start listing to them as well.

Maybe it is possible to merge this and the Jefferson County radio system thread. Anyhow, there are obviously some big changes happening to these two systems, so anybody with control channel monitoring capabilities in that area (i.e. Unitrunker) would be a big help.

You might as well go ahead and depreciate all of the public safety talkgroups on the ShareNet system. It is still on the air and active, but only with industrial talkgroups - I listened for a good chunk of the day today and the only municipal talkgroup I heard was Port Arthur Animal Control on 18224 - and only once.

Also, Huntsman is no longer the co-owner of the system; they sold off or were absorbed long ago.

If anyone cares, here's some industrial talkgroup gleanings:
5136 - "A/C, OCCAM"
1840 - "call me on my private"
42832 - "bring the motors", electrical?
14672 - heard keyup
3632 - heard keyup
1040 - "stick my hand in it," "hey Joe"
656 - "come on down, take a break"
528 - heard keyup
240 - tank farms, control?
3440 - talk of heat exchangers & plumbing
3568 - heard keyup
10096 - heard keyup
3536 - Control room
6864 - heard keyup
336 - heard keyup
14704 - flow control

I also nabbed a couple of new/unlisted industrial syetems:
858.6875 control channel, shows SID 3B1d. Talkgroups look like Type I/II hybrid
859.8375 control channel, SID 4d38
