Well, I've been searching, and cannot find a single thing... So I will ask here. Mods, if this is not the proper sub forum, please move as necessary.

Anyways, I have a portable scanner, and I would really like to find some type of remote speaker (like a speaker mic) to use with it... Any suggestions? I don't really want anything in/clipped/hanging off my ear...

Scanner uses a normal 3.5 mm output jack..

Thanks guys and girls.

Something like this?
Scanner Lapel Speaker

What kind of scanner do you have? The Radio Shack/GRE models often can be modded with a short from the earphone jack ground to the bnc ground to unleash full power audio output to a speaker, which would solve some of the criticisms of this unit.

Heh, how did you know I had a pro 106 ?

That is exactly what I was looking for, thanks :)

Now, whats all this about grounding the connections? Is this for the actual speaker, or when hooking up an external speaker?

I bought one almost like it in the 1980's from Radio Shack [still have it] Works nice in a noisy environment.

The best remote speaker I've ever used is a cheap computer speaker.
I've had one wired to 12volts in my truck for 10 years and puts out enough sound to blow you out with the windows down.

Make sure the speakers can handle at least 9 volts DC.
