Looking at the picture, I was wondering how far the scanner would fly if you pulled back on the rubber band?

I like the slingshot idea especially if your on the other side of the room and a friend (trustworthy) is available to pass it to you ------ go for yardage!!
I spent a little more, I think around 8 dollars at the time, and picked up a business card holder from Staples made of metal, short height but the right angle for my viewing with the BCD396XT mounted on it secured with a velcro strap. Take a look, maybe you'll prefer this option......
Cheers,

A member here, Ron, used to manufacture custom stands. Built like tanks and affordable. Not sure if he's still making them or not, but anything he makes is better by a factor of ten than any of those $2 solutions you guys have come up with.

Not that there's anything wrong with iPad stands and rubber bands.

Ron can come out so to speak if he wants and I vouch for him also. Bought one from him in 2006. Works great with a 296, 396xt type.

I'm game. Post up a photo, if the stand is custom made what was the cost? I don't know Ron, and don't know where he is, however I do know where a Staples is located. Was just looking for something that was quick to put together and serve a purpose and share the idea.

I'll take a photo when I get home and you can see it.

Ron can come out publically if he chooses to, I dunno if he makes them anymore though.

Just stopping by to say thank you for alerting me to this product :)

| know it's not scanner related but I used that stand as a base to ziptie a mini tripod to it for my dashcam.

To anyone going to Dollarama and can't find this product in their small electronics section, the rack/stand isn't attached very well to the cardboard backing and some shops might not have them on view - but they are in the boxes above the shelving. Ya, this is a nifty little thing and I bought 4 of them ;)

After looking in dollarama today for the OP's stand (which I didn't find), I noticed that there are lots of small photo frames both straight up and angled that would also work well with a rubber band or velcro to hold an HT or HH scanner.
Some are wide enough to hold two together side by side.
