Not sure if its allowed but as oregonians and mult co residents anyone hear of petitions in other parts of the states to un-encrypt normal traffic? (Not sure this is allowed on this forum, but it pertains to my hobby a legal activity, and im not bashing encryption or trying to break it, but it would be nice to not have to sell my radios)

Looks like system issues.

presently 6:00PM - Thurs :

Fire Ops is on 8CALL90 conventional 800 repeater
and EMS is on OROPS1 conv. repeater.

Multnomah County Dispatching on OROPS3 repeater.

Edit: County back on 20816 with an announcement
on OROPS3 that the main net is back up.

Announcement on 8CALL90 that they're no longer monitoring.

This afternoon, what I understood, was that the dispatchers could see that
a car was calling, but couldn't hear them.
The units could hear the dispatcher and could car-to-car,
but no exchange with the dispatcher.

I don't know which agencies on the 800 are/were affected.

Roll call of of all units on county 20816 at 6:10 PM.

I hear North & East on the 800.

They're back...
Will we hear of this in the media?

There must have been some major meltdown at BOEC for them to switch all police to the encrypted channels. I heard fire calls being dispatched on the 800 system, and the units where told to respond on U-Call 90. Interesting to find out what happened.

I hate to say it, but for the interest of my hobby and the want to be in the know, I hope this system fails. I can only image though the millions of tax dollars this project has consumed and the millions more it will cost to fix - only for it never to work as promised &/or designed.
