portland PD on Radioshack Pro 106

So, I got a Pro 106 digital scanner from radio shack about a week ago. Programed it following the directions provided by a fellow on youtube found here:

Used the frequencies/talk group numbers which I found here:

Portland Public Safety Trunking System, Portland, Maine - Scanner Frequencies

Got everything running this past saturday afternoon. Could hear Portland PD, SP PD, lots of EMS, etc. All kinds of action with the PPD saturday night. Heard tons more Sunday.

Monday morning comes along, could hear lots of Portland FD, DPW, garbage, school bus, street sweeping, parking, EMS, but no Portland PD. At 4:30, I could suddenly here SP PD as well, but still no Portland PD.

...... I noticed that Portland PD and Portland FD use a lot of, or most of, the same frequencies, however I'm not sure if this is relevant.

Any thoughts as to how to listen to the Portland PD 24/7, or if it can actually be done with this scanner?

Push PROG--PUSH New--push tgrp-push sel to put Portland on bank 1. Scroll down 1, push new-when it says new on type..Scroll down 1--to TAG.. Push SEL and program the name..scroll down 1 to FREQUENCIES.--IGNORE THIS, I got dropped-aol- had to re-type this---go down 2 notches

There are No banks in a Pro-106, just list.

PUSH PROG--Push sel on bank 1. Scroll down 1 to tsys. Push SEl when you see it-- when it says TYPE- push SEL. iT SHOULD AUTOMATICLY GO TO MOT-800/900. SCROLL DOWN 1, TO TAG--EBTER TEXT. sCROLL DOWN AGAIN TO FREQUENCIES. push SEL. Enter freqs, by scrolling down. 1 freq for each number.After all freqs are in, push SAVE.SROLL DOWN TO DWELL.. Type in 19. Aka 1 second to anallize to see who is talking....push SAVE. Thats programming the system- Be advised that S.PORTLAND is on the same system.. The scanner will go to work searching for the entities. You are looking for I.D 42..Port-pd... Not sure about fire I.D, just keep storing all I.D's and then when they are there-lockout what you dont want. that should get you there. Different days-there will be alternate CONTROL CHANNEL's...Use 1 scanner for pd, 1 for fire, 1 for mercy E-R, ! to get others like DPW-or what not.. Hope this helps...Feel free to ask anything, I dont have ALL the answers-but will tell ya what I know RON

My opinion of the win 500 is; its good for throwing at a wall. I appreciate the offer. But help yourself posting the info. I got a spot where to go to update the Portland system. However, if you want some York county freqs, let me know. I just finished it. I'm afraid if taking up the whole page,lol...Ron
