So, I got a Pro 106 digital scanner from radio shack about a week ago. Programed it following the directions provided by a fellow on youtube found here:

Used the frequencies/talk group numbers which I found here:

Portland Public Safety Trunking System, Portland, Maine - Scanner Frequencies

Got everything running this past saturday afternoon. Could hear Portland PD, SP PD, lots of EMS, etc. All kinds of action with the PPD saturday night. Heard tons more Sunday.

Monday morning comes along, could hear lots of Portland FD, DPW, garbage, school bus, street sweeping, parking, EMS, but no Portland PD. At 4:30, I could suddenly here SP PD as well, but still no Portland PD.

...... I noticed that Portland PD and Portland FD use a lot of, or most of, the same frequencies, however I'm not sure if this is relevant.

Any thoughts as to how to listen to the Portland PD 24/7, or if it can actually be done with this scanner?
