Seems to have alot of hum, wondering if the desktop input vol is turned up and the radio vol is set low or is the other way around that does that? Just might want to check your input audio lvls. Tough to listen too.

Hum equals ground loop. The scanner output is high also, but not the cause of the hum. What is needed is a ground loop isolator. They can be made from an audio transformer and placed in line or can be purchased from Radio Shack. Hum can be fixed easily.

Ground Loop Isolator - RadioShack.com

The ones that I use are here:

ISOLATOR Isolates grounds between Radio and Sound Card. Reduces or eliminates ground-loop hum and noise. ISOL8R For the Sound Card LINE OUT to reduce Transmit audio Noise and HUM [ISOLATOR] - $12.95 : BUXCOMM , Where Ham Radio Operators Come to Shop

Its great to see everyone using the Portland feeds! I switched up the scanner a tad and got rid of USCG channnel and replaced it with Westbrook.

Thanks for listening, it's always nice to see the max listener number go up. And it justifies that people want the feed.

I am not sure which feed you are specifically talking about, however I can tell you that the "Portland and South Portland Fire and EMS" does have tags enabled. If you are talking about the other Portland feed, I believe he is using a BCT8, which correct me if I am wrong is not alphanumeric.
