I am possibly thinking about trading my laptop, i have a dell C600M laptop, it has a DVD Combo drive/burner. all kinds of software, and power supply and whatnot, 40GB harddrive, internal wireless card, and all that windows XP Service Pack 2, and all kinds of new virus scan software,

i am looking for a Panasonic ToughBook CF-28 with a touch screen, and wireless card,
what would be the perks of this trade?
like what is the performance standing side by side?
if anyone is interested in trading, let me know,

Toughbooks are a lot more expensive that other laptops of the same specs. Without doing any research on the price of both, i don't know which is more expensive, but i would guess the toughbook would be a lot more expensive.

i was just looking on ebay, and some other sites, and i see them going for $200- $400
i purchased this computer from dell @ $899 plus tax in march, i am using it to type this message, i can capture wireless networks from about 200ft away, and i can connect with my wireless network at work that has a WEP key, i dont endorse wireless piggybacking, but it can be done with unsecure networks,

well if anyone has a CF-28 with 30 or more GB harddrive, wireless card and touch screen, i will def trade, let me know

Hi Southtown800,

A good friend of mine has a couple of dozen Toughbooks (CF-27). These are the touch screen models and some have the built in extendable antenna for cell communication.

Here is a link to his website where you can E-mail him or phone him, which ever you prefer.

Being a computer technician at the time, I have repaired a couple of older tough books. Prices on parts for our shop were a bit higher than those, to say the least.

I would definately keep the Dell, unless for some reason you're in construction or something and need something rugged over the current Dell. Just my opinion.
