Details still sketchy, but Dallas PD and DFR are working an incident near Buckner Blvd and John West Rd.

initial reports were of 20 shot, but has been scaled down. DFR has 5 rescues, along with a battalion chief and division chief assigned.

Northeast Patrol Division (on DPD channel 2) has about 20 elements on scene, according to the Open Data site. No other details at this time, but comments are that several are being taken to Baylor Hospital. Apparently there may be at least one fatality as officers on scene have been instructed that this is a homicide, and are documenting shell casings.

This incident finally showed up on local media. This morning, it was on the Dallas News site. This afternoon, it finally was posted on the sites of two of the four local network television stations (Fox 4 and WFAA Ch 8).

Initial reports listed many more victims than there actually were. A total of three individuals were shot, one fatally, one in critical condition, and the third condition was unknown. (The last one was taken to an unspecified hospital by private vehicle, instead of by DFR.)

I was monitoring this incident last night and was surprised how long it took to make the newspapers too. Excellent response from DPD and DFR staging ambulances and emergency response personnel. They have the perp on video so they should catch up to him soon.

It was a busy night. Before this, there were several high speed chases with Air One support overhead. One originated in Allen, 120 mph, which involved several municipalities and ended with a crashed in Dallas near 75 and Mockingbird. The two perps were able to escape on foot (which is a very rare occurrence).
