Found these all while searching on Saturday. All had gameday-related traffic, but that's as far as I could narrow it down. First I've monitored on a gameday since I've been back (last time I monitored on a gameday, it was all VHF thankyouverymuch). Will try to get better intel this Saturday - the 780 is unpacked and the PC with ARC780 is up, so I should be able to set it to logging on its own. I did note some patching going on as well, but don't have particulars (no Trunker, et al).

Also, the TG noted as "EMSTAT 1" in the DB (TG 19536) pretty consistently has only Paramedic -> ED traffic. Have yet to hear anything on TG 44144 which is where that traffic is "supposed" to be.

Moore to DPS?

Surely there are, but they aren't in the database. I didn't have a chance to listen this weekend tho' I did get the 780 hooked up and have been searching for TGs on both the Norman and DPS systems. Will post findings at another time.

I heard a fire dispatch on 51696 (I think) and thought of this thread. Will try to match them up later. Assume Moore will be simulcasting on VHF for a while.

I heard that traffic and saw that talkgroup also today. I saw it on the state system but I was driving at the time.

Interesting DPS system hits in Norman

Yeah, I've been searching on the DPS system a bunch and get all kinds of interesting TG hits. I'm not set up for discriminator/Trunker ops, but can at least log TGs in ARC780.

Lots of UNID TGs. Well, one is IDed as noted.

Wow! I wonder why in the world Tulsa Dept of Public Works would have access to the Norman TRS site to begin with?

Just to be clear, it's the Norman site of the state DPS system ... but I still don't know the answer.

I was right - that was Moore - ha!

Anyway, I left ARC780 running with the 780 in search on both the Norman and DPS systems while we were hauling stuff to the transfer station. Tried to lock out as many of the regular (busy) IDs. Came up with the following UNID talkgroups from both systems:

Norman System:

7288
19792
26928
28080
31348
42995
43888
44080
44179
46067

DPS system:

15856
25508
35824
51394
51472
52208
55536
59632

These TGs are in addition to the many, many identified talkgroups on both systems that had hits.

Norman Activity during OU Games

For those of you in the Norman area, there is quite a bit of strange radio stuff that goes on during OU games that you might be able to shed some light on.

At some point Norman Police dispatch moves from 16016 to 43920 yet, is still simulcast on the Norman site of the DPS system.

Norman Fire dispatch moves from 19216 to 43952, what I have, for some reason, come to call “OU Command Post”.

I did hear 44080 referred to as “Command Post Dispatch” I have heard the dispatcher dispatching “bike “ units to wherever they go and other units to incidents happening within the stadium.

As mentioned by plaws previously, 44144 is not used for “patient reports”. It appears to be used for some type of vehicular access authorization.

43888 appears to be another command post of some type. I heard a unit calling “command post” on this TGID, however, I do not recall a response.

Any idea why the TGIDs change?

Another question applies to routine Fire Dispatch operations. After the two–tone sequential page(s) there is sometimes – but not always – a series of three DTMF tones. Has anybody figured out under what circumstances the DTMF tones are used and what they do?

I *think* this is to alert EMSStat command personnel. How the decision is made to dispatch a command car on a run isn't known to me.

I'll cogitate on the other stuff for a while before answering.

BTW, 154.3850, the old NFD dispatch is now used by CCSO.

Had Unitrunker on today for most of the day. Missed some of the pregame stuff as the control channel rotated (twice) and I wasn't around to fix it.
  • I-Tac 2 (867.0125 [156.7]) was active, patched to something, but I know not which.
  • NFD Fire 3 (TG 19312) was active and patched to NPD Patrol C (TG 16112)
  • NFD Fire 4 (TG 19344) was active and patched to I-Tac 3 (867.5125 [156.7])
  • NFD Fire 5 (TG 19376) wasn't very active but was patched to NPD ERT (TG 16336)
Didn't hear much on the "local mutual aid" channels, either. Next game, I'll put the computer on the DPS system.

As for migration, my bet is that they do it just after a home game where there isn't another game for a few weeks ... if they do it during the season at all.

In other news, the new OUPD station on Monitor St, just behind the new FS 3, appears to be open. Thank goodness they're out of those WW II "1 minute" buildings and the trailers!!

Now, if we can just get some real quarters for EMSStat 30 (also in a WW II "1 minute" building), we'll be like a real city. :)

Hi Peter;
Do you have the radio parked on one channel? You can have it scan the control channels. It's a cheap way to recover from a moving control channel.

I thought about that later ... too later. :D Games the next two weeks, so I'll do it differently next time.

Another new one:

OU Parking Patrol - 52496

Also, EMSSTAT seems to be using the previously IDed 55120 for hospital notification and medical control.
