By the way... speaking of the DB for STARS, is there anyway we can begin adding what City/ County the sites are in? It's getting confusing, especially with the new sites coming on line.

Take a look at the North Carolina VIPER system, Illinois StarCom21 system, and the Indiana SAFE-T system. They all did this with their sites as the systems grew in size. I think now would be a good time to implement such a thing.
I live just norh of Waynesboro and 161.925 is extremely strong. Although the listing shows this as Orange, I strongly suspect that it is located at the Bear Den sight. I am line of sight to Bear Den and I am receiving this signal at +50 db over S9. The sight is mostly transmitting TG 35, or VSP Division 3.
I pick that site up very good from west of Bridgewater... I wondered how the signal could come from Orange as well. I have heard of Bear Den but don't know where it is. It that in the Afton area east of Dooms?

@n3glz: What site ID is the CC broadcasting?
Hey Todd, Bearden is north of Afton/I-64. The access road is 3.6 miles north of the entrance station on the drive. You can see some of the towers very well from around that first overlook going north. It is also visible directly in front of you as you pass the Crozet exit on 64 westbound, there are several towers there along the ridgeline. I take care of a cell site we share with VSP but the STARS stuff is in a brand new building.
Try the ham repeater on 147.075 or 444.775, the latter is linked to another VHF repeater in Highland county.
Yep, that's it. Still has Dominion Power, VSP, an old AT&T tower, and public radio FM. Farther out is a wood pole belonging to ex-Adelphia now Comcast (not sure how much is used anymore), a tower belonging to WHSV where 147.075 is, and the FM 99.7 tower with 444.775 and some commercial stuff.
The land around the VSP tower was donated to the Park by the family that owned it a few years ago, and the AT goes right past the towers. I've seen rattle snakes up there in the summer, one was right in the road!
Anyway, hearing STARS traffic from that site and have heard affiliations from RIC and NoVA too. They're gonna need more channels up there even though Appo isn't all that busy.
