possible TGRP search in database???

Hey everyone, I have a question about searching the database. I listen almost exclusively to the LWIN wireless network in Louisiana, as 99% of the state is on it full time now. The problem is that it is exceedingly difficult to identify newly found talkgroups to determine if they are actually newly found.

Is there a way to search a trunked system by talkgroup id?
If not, would there be a feasible way to add this functionality in the future?

I am aware that I could download the entire database into my scanner, but I don't want to tie up that much memory. Right now I get a wildcard hit and the only way to test it out is to search through hundreds of listings for the talkgroup--and possibly missing it anyway! I am just figuring that with large trunked networks only becoming more common, this would be an easy way to improve the user interface and accuracy of the database.

I don't know if this will help you, but, when I find new TG's I write them down and go to the database page of the system and use Ctrl F and enter the number in the find box and if it there it will show it.

Once you're on the system page in the RR DB, there are two ways you can quickly search for a TGID:

- CTRL+F to open your browser's search box, where you can input the TGID you're looking for

or

- Click the "List All in one table" link under System Talkgroups to sort them all by DEC TGID, then scroll through the list


The trouble with having a TGID Search on the main DB page is that these TGID's are repeated on hundreds of systems. Searching for TGID 26800, for example, might return just about every Motorola Type II and P25 system in the database. Not very efficient, and certainly not as easy as using either of the above two methods to search a particular system.

If you look at the upper left menu you will see the "Watch" button. You can click that for a specific county or systems you want to follow and you will see a color notification when you are on the RR home page if they're updated. Green is updated within the past 24 hours and yellow within 7 days. Then when you browse a system, you can click "history" to see what system/county was changed. Then go to the system page and the updated TG or channel(s) will also display the green or yellow.

If you find a wildcard TG on your scanner, you can do CTRL-F and search for the ID as others have mentioned.
