Possible UHF Passport system in Ft Lauderdale?

i was scanning threw the 460mhz band in FT Lauderdale and everyday i come across 4 to 5 frequencies in the 460mhz range that sound like control channels?
is there anything in FT lauderdale on Los olas or A1A area that is UHF Trunked or Passport?

What do the "control channels" sound like, and why would you think it is Passport? From what I know, signalling goes over every voice channel. It is an on/off carrier keying every few seconds, somewhat like LTR but faster, with a longer carrier "on" time; and cannot be decoded by LTR scanners.

sorry about posting in the wrong spot, but the only thing i have left to say about it, is that they carry for about 12 to 17 secs and a stright buzz, that is all i can tell you about them
i guessed LTR Passport because that is the most popular now a days with UHF Trunking, my guess is that it is a local Community system for the local hotels and taxis and whatnot?....any guesses?

Fort Lauderdale police MDT's. Just a guess; are you talking about 460.200, 460.300, 460.325, etc?

i belive it is 460.1500 460.2000 and 2 more i dont remember, i dont have my scanner on hand as it is back at the radio shack shop. but i think yours were correct?....so it is the MDT's?

Before Ft. Lauderdale PD went to 800 MHz trunked, they had six channels in the 460 MHz range. They now use some of those old freqs for MDT's. They are 460.050, 460.100, 460.125, 460.200, 460.300, 460.325. If it's any of those, it's probably FLPD MDT's.

that sounds about right, i was hoping it was some kind of LTR, i am looking for new systems that arnt passport, speaking of which, is there and equipment being develouped for LTR Passport or MPT-1327 yet?

Signal Communications

Those CC's are likely from Signal Communications 'trunking' system. They sell dispatch service that extends from South Florida up to Stuart, in Martin County. Coverage isn't contiguous, but the sites are connected via T1 and some proprietary 'site trunking' protocol that lets you talk remotely through the repeater network.

You should be able to find (analog) voice channels in that band.
