DaveNF2G,

I have logged a wide area repeater system which covers from the panhandle of Florida over to Alabama on 171.325 NAC200 that is Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The units use many 10 codes, for example "10-8, 10-7 at the OS, 10-15, 10-26, 10-41 and 10-42" Could 167.850 NAC200 be Immigration up your way also.

Immigration uses NAC 100 around here, and is usually encrypted.

I'm also hearing EMPIRE 09 (exercise) traffic on 171.200 NAC E03. Usually I get a squelch break and NAC decode, but no voice. Probably all portables, some of which could be airborne as this drill involves helicopters.

I picked up activity for the first time on 171.325 last month during a good band opening. The NAC was 300 and I was hearing a weak simulcast on 171.6625 (also Nac 300). Traffic was P25 in the clear and the identifiers were "Bravo' and "Lima" units. I heard reference to Gulfbreeze beach and Holly beach. Holly beach is in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. A search of "Gulfbreeze beach" indicated either Mississippi or Florida.........

We may have a pattern developing here. Check 166.7375 and 172.5625 (P25 and NAC 200 in Cent. FL)and see what you hear. ;)

I will plug those in the scanner but since I am in Houston don't hold your breath! Most of the skip I receive comes from south Texas when the conditions are right. Getting stuff from the east of my local is more infrequent.

I have that one. Orlando area. I also picked up something with NAC $067. Not sure what that was.

Boy, the bands have been really open. Set up my new DTV channels at the best time! Gotz all kinds of stuff. Good DX indicators. :)

I did a band search on 406-420 and hit 3 control channels. They are at 406.9875, 407.3875 & 407.5875. They show an SID of "5E1B" and a CT of 116.13 when on Motorola Type II. All 3 have a 99% rating and are full 5 bars on the scale on my Pro-197. However, I cannot find anything about these channels. I entered them into a TSYS and tried setting it as a Motorola Type II and as a P25 Auto but have never snagged a TGRP after 7 days of continuous monitoring.

Any suggestions on settings, trunk tables, fleet maps, anything?

Or should I just not ask?

(plenty of helicopters coming and going down here)

:)

Thanx

Unfortunately the original TRS had no SysID
Scanner Frequencies: Arkansas National Guard: Fort Chaffee Trunking System, Fort Chaffee, Arkansas

Maybe, like many of the BRAC bases, it's coming back to life.

Try this for a trunking table:
Lo Chan 380
Hi Chan 759
Offset 380
Base Freq 406.1125
Step 12.5

This is pretty common for military trunked Motorola Type II.

I am new to this so it is just a shot in the dark.

Actually, I was pointing to possible frequency reuse on new ICE frequencies. If you heard the same frequencies used in MS/LA with a different NAC, maybe the reuse theory stands. Time will tell, but I am keeping an eye on these.

I'm picking up 168.765 encrypted (maybe 168.7675?) with a NAC of 083 from Richmond, VA. I've heard reports that it could be ICE, but can anyonee confirm that?

Dave,

Green Mtn National Forest

169.1750 is the Rptr

Maybe your Site [New Tone to those of us in New England] is for the
Finger Lakes National Forest ?? But then, that is farther into NY than your area.. so go with Option 1.

Good Catch

I've had
192.8 Lincoln Park Rptr
186.2 Romance Mtn Rptr
173.8 Killington Rptr
167.9 Style Peak Rptr
156.7 Mt Snow Rptr
103.5 ????
100.0 ????

Finger Lakes is outside my receiving range, but I hear Vermont State Police all the time. Also, there is a Manchester in Vermont. Sounds like an ID!

Thanks!

166.8750 ?

There was a frequency I heard in the 90's that was 100% DES encrypted, I could never tell who was using it. What info (old or new) does anyone have for 166.8750 ?

So this was back in your Yankee Days ??:D

How about US Customs. 166.8750 was the input for 165.2375 in both [Confirmed 90's Sites] Watertown NY and Mt Philo VT

It is also an NPS Rptr for Lowell MA [151.4 Hz]

Thanks, Bill. This was in my early FL days. :) I moved to FL from NY in the early 90's, went back to NY from '97 to '99 for a job, and came back down to FL after that. I heard no MDC1200 or anything else that would point to Customs. No input pattern. This was a Treasury assignment, so maybe it was them, but I had no way to tell.
