Potential Tornado Touchdown - CLT

Sounds like a potential tornado touchdown in West Charlotte. Setting up a shelter (West Meck FD) and getting RedCross involved. Heavy structure damage as well.

Operations on CFD-OPS 1J (15760)

Heard them talking about surveying and taking photographs to provide to the National Weather Service. Evidently the path is pretty clear.

Another wave of strong storms heading in the response direction. All units are finishing current assignments and heading to West Meck FD until the next wave passes.

Alot of trees down. Reports of structural damage. Multiple Roofs off.

I have heard some reports of injuries. 2 children were injured. Both with broken bones.

I also heard that CERT has been called out.

I think i dodged a bullet but we did have one close moment. I hope all our freinds in High Point are ok, they really got it hard. Guilford EMS been conducting all kinds of rescue operation there.

The national weather service is assessing damage. They are working off the Guilford System on TG 3056 Emergency Management.
