• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I am in process of migrating from V3 to P4 PPS using the CPRM. I have many hundreds of talkgroups, so I decided to use Unication-format .csv files as (for now) my system of record. I imported all the .csv files into systems defined in the CPRM. I then created profiles based on the CPRM systems and talkgroups. I started out with just a few zones and everything works as expected.

Then...I realized my .csv files needed some updates, both TGIDs and how I named them. So I revised my .csv files, deleted all TGs from the CPRM, and re-imported into the CPRM. The CPRM now shows my updated TGs from the .csv files.

Here's where I'm encountering a bug. I thought it would be a good idea to delete my zones and systems and re-pull the systems and TGs from CPRM, so I did. Except now, when creating a zone...I see my old (original) list of TGIDs. The CPRM shows the correct TG list, but somehow the TG picker in the zone is only seeing my "old" talkgroups...which don't exist in the CPRM or directly in the profile. It's like they're cached somewhere. But I examine the TGs in the CPRM and they're the revised TGs.

My next step is to completely delete my profile and start over (which isn't a huge effort). Barring that...then uninstall PPS V4 and reinstall and maybe that will clear what's in the Program Data folders.

While you updated in the C tab did you also update in the E2 tab? Deleting the old in E2 tab and moving the new in from C
Arrrghh...I thought I did, but apparently I did not. That was it - thank you! (I blame it on spending too many hours on my .csv files.)
