Could be historic - or could be nothing 
A lot of that depends on Ike. Models this morning took Ike into northern Mexico, which would have really hurt the chances for extreme rain, but that's also not likely.
As we saw with Gustav, forecasting the movement of hurricane leftovers is pretty much impossible more than a day or so out.
