POTUS is coming to town.

The temporary flight restrictions are already in the FAA database

Into SFO then Fairmont SF for dinner on Tuesday, and a visit to Solyndra in Fremont on Wed. via Helo and motorcaide.

Should be lots of CAP mil-air and LEO traffic.

The scanner will busy. I used to hear the motorcade back in the early days just a few clicks away from the ATF repeater. We used to catch Bill Clinton's Marine One chopper flights from the airport to Leon Panetta's ranch in Carmel Valley. Hillary attended a funeral about a mile away, after a local man died in a Bosnia plane crash. The SS was loud and clear on their walkie-talkies.

Some of the federal frequencies are hardly a secret; but you won't likely hear a word of English in a post 9-11 world...

Fed stuff mostly encrypted. CHP on 42.34 is active with the clearing of freeways for the motorcade. SFO Tower 120.5 for tomorrow's departure.

Try searching between 163-172 mhz, but don't expect to hear much but the static bursts from Motorola's DVP scramblers. I don't even program most of those federal law enforcement freqs in my scanners any more; because there is nothing to hear.

I heard some rare static on a local FBI channel on Monday. It turns out, they were investigating the attempted sabotage of a researcher's SUV, by animal rights terrorists who attacked the wrong guy. Pictures of G-men and G-women on the TV and in the papers this morning. This is as good as it gets most of the time any more. We hear those encrypted messages and then hope it makes the news...

I'm hearing occasional traffic on the CAL-STAR "blue" channel (866.5375 mhz). It might have something to do with the new Med operations out of Hunter Liggett. Most of the other traffic is on the "green" channel...

Those are CMARS, not CALSTAR channels.
