Old Scanners never die. I've had an old BC 780xlt and a Pro 2035 sitting on the desktop for years. They did their share of the work in the analogue days, but mostly started to collect dust. So I loaded them up with Milair stuff, and a few odd other things, and put them back to work. Starting hearing quite a bit on the Milair side, so I upgraded to an antenna that was closer turned to that band, added a multicoupler and things came alive.
Well today I was able to hear the F-35s flying Combat Air Patrol and talking to their NORAD controller Bigfoot on 271.000am. Also was able to hear Air Force 1 once they came up on the DFW West Tower 124.150. Best part was when the F-35s scrambled to intercept an aircraft that had violated the Temporary Flight Restrictions, and heard them trying to make contact on the Guard freq. of 121.500.
Good day of scanning for me. Don't think I ever turned up the volume on these Digital scanners today.
