POTUS Visits Durham NC Tuesday 3/28

On Tuesday, March 28, the President will travel to Durham, North Carolina and will visit Wolfspeed, a semiconductor manufacturer, in RTP. He will land at RDU Airport and motorcade to the site. Look for road closures along the route.

Expect VIPER SW Event channels and NCSHP Air channel to be in use, also RDU LE channels will be active. You may also pick up traffic on the Durham system.

Wolfspeed uses DMR frequencies which can be found under this license...

According to news reports, AF1 will arrive at Raleigh-Durham International Airport about 12:45PM, with his remarks being at Wolfspeed, in Durham.

Heard some frequencies yesterday I haven't often heard, 166.700 which I have as White House Staff, also 162.6875 I have as AF1 Phone Uplink, both on TG 1 Encrypted. Others heard included Sierra 166.5125 and Charlie 165.375 both on TG 0 & 1 encrypted. Also heard Oscar 164.8875 on TG 1 with some traffic in the clear. Radio IDs were all over the place this time around.

Noticed a lot more use of cell phones by agents also. Below are a few of the photos I took of AF1, POTUS and agents on or with cell phones.

The bald guy in the last photo is Travis Dredd, not USSS. The guy he's talking to I presume is an advance guy, probably who's using 166.7. I've noticed the same about RIDs lately, especially on Oscar.

okay wonder if they are using that for comms between the aircraft and ground units (either the limo or one of the support vehicles). It used to be duplex but perhaps that have just decided to use as simplex now.
