First of all my thanks to all that responded to my question from yesterday. As an addendum to that question, I would like to know if there is a vehicle power cord available that would connect a beartracker 885 radio to a USB port. I'm just trying to keep my options open when I mount it in my vehicle. My thanks in advance for any assistance.

Right, USB is 5 volts DC. CB's require 12 volts DC.

Are there ways to boost 5VDC up to 12VDC? Yes, but the USB connector on it's own isn't going to provide enough amperage to do that reliably.

Trust us on this one, the correct way to wire a radio is direct to the battery. Tapping into existing vehicle wiring, even the cigarette lighter, is a good way to introduce unwanted noise into your radio. Pulling power directly off the battery and -properly- grounding everything is the ideal way to do this. AM CB radio already suffers from enough RF interference, adding to the mess by improper power and antenna installs isn't going to help.
