Power Line Noise?

That, coupled with the source going silent with power line work, makes me think you have an insulator failing on your service drop. (Or a neighbor on the same transformer.)

Thanks, this is what I'm leaning toward as well. The only wrench in this theory is that the noise was gone one day while they were working but my power was still on. But I'll check into this if I can.
