CB amp...just a few comments
POWER PLUS 150 AMP? "Bought this at a flea market as it looked cool. Does anyone have the manual or some type on user info for it. Thanks Ron
Yes, a nice-looking old-school CB amp. (Are there new-school CB amps?)
Anyway, they aren't bad if they work. You can usually find a kicker like this
at a flea market, I have one really old one, runs off a car battery, and then I had
one made for me years ago, uses a proper power source, plugs-in. My thoughts
on CB kickers are, if you aren't interfering with someone's legal signal, then
so what. CB is hardly the craze it was back in the 70's.
But, yeah, they're illegal.
As far as using them, no big problem, you hook it up to power and then you
hook it up between your radio and the antenna.
The "150" (which I assume is extra watts) may or may not be accurate, there
was a lot of exaggeration in regard to power with these things.
Problems: hook it backwards and you'll fry it...also heat is always a concern, if it
doesn't have a built-in fan, make sure you have a fan blowing on it.
Hope some of this was helpful. just remembering the old days, I guess.
