• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a Uniden 980 ssb cb radio. I am looking for a good 120 volt power supply so that I can bring it inside. Any ideas?

Gigaparts, HRO, and R&L are all good places to get a quality supply.

I bought a pair of ALINCO power supplies last year while on sale. “Too much” in size, price seemed fine . . . and that HRO sold them meant to me they were of sufficient quality.

Uniden specs it as 4A max on SSB so get at least that which is not that much current. An HR2510 for example would likely not be happy with less than 10A if it was not "turned up".

This is a nice fit for that radio. Astron has the best in and out of warranty in the business, period.

This TekPower is another standout choice in your quest for a radio switching power supply, both in terms of appearance and function. Additionally, the line and load regulation, which can keep the output voltage constant despite changes in the input or load, is excellent. This guarantees the optimal performance under different circumstances.

I use an Astron 70A Leeen Yaar for my new Anytone 5555N II but it also feeds an SGC 500W amp. When its not on the Leeen Yaar supply it sometimes uses a 100A Digee Taal P/S or my bank of 440AH super Leeen Yaar golf cart batteries.

But I could use your recommendation for the Stryker, Rf was only turned up once, stays minimum now, have other things for the burner.

Anderson radio supply, google it.
Best price I found. They are local to me but drop shipped it within a week. If you have a stock radio you are OK, if you have a Stryker or President keep the RF power down to the minimum.
