I've been holding off posting this to confirm it wasn't an SD card issue, which I have replaced a while go. This has happened over all the firmwares, so I ruled out a specific one.

When I power on the scanner, I've had it freeze up on a system, talk group etc as if the scanner was in Channel Hold and couldn't get a signal. Another time I had the scanner scan and not stop on anything and today when I turned on the scanner, it would not receive any systems in my active trunk systems...no signal, nothing.

In order to correct this most times I had to power off and power back on the scanner. Once I had to clear out all my favorites and reload everything...fortunately I was home to do this.

Today I only had turn the scanner off and everything returned to normal. SD cards are the high performance 32gb and before I did anything else the first time it occurred, replaced it.

Very odd and can't pinpoint anything specifically that I did or have done to make this occur. My first "thought" was maybe I pressed two buttons when I powered on. I've been very careful on my button pushing and when it happened today, I know only the power button was pressed.

Think I've had the same thing happen a few times with the latest official firmware. Power cycling has always corrected the problem.

I had this happen once. Opening the squelch did nothing. The radio appeared responsive, but actually did absolutely nothing (i.e., no RF or AF, just the UI). Like you all, rebooting "fixed" it.

same here

Yes I have seen this issue also. The radio would scan but dead silent when there was a traffic. A reboot cured it more than once. Just to reiterate, this was not a simple case of missing a few transmissions. It acted as if it could not receive.

EDIT - I was scanning a NXDN trunked system and it would not receive the CC.

Correct....twice it froze on a talk group as if I pressed the Channel Hold button. Once I couldn't shut it down via the power key. Had to do some magic via Sentinel. Recognized when I put the power cable in to the USB though.

This morning it scanned normally but none of the systems were producing control channel data (Which they were, confirmed via a 536 during a search). SD cards changed, firmware updated etc. and still occurred after the first two occurrences.

Third time for me.
