• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

PPS communication with pager issue

Hello,

I know this has been discussed before on this thread but I am at my wits end, I cannot for whatever reason get the PPS software to communicate with the pager, it gives me the "no device connected" message when I attempt to program. This is a new issue, I have not had this problem previously and have been regularly updating my pager for the several years I've owned it, I have tried a multitude of different cables, every single USB port, uninstalled and reinstalled the PPS, tried an older version, updated the drivers, pretty much every fix I have seen documented previously. The radio is always in an on position and I can tell that the computer recognizes the device, it shows up in the device manager. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks!

How does it show up in device manager? If it shows up under "Ports", it's not using the right driver. It should show up under Network adapters, as "Unication USB Ethernet/RNDIS". If it's anything else, I'd uninstall that device (right-click on it in device manager), then install the driver package (not PPS!) from Downloads- G2-G5 P25 Voice Pager | Unication USA

I had the same problem after the windows update on 11/13. This solved the problem. Download the driver.
