Advanced Receiver Research has a decent wideband preamp that would work well. Mini-Circuits is also a good source to look at.

It is. It's a well known name in amateur weak signal circles. Same with Mini-Circuits. Don't let the goofy name fool you. They're a big player in the defense and telecom industry. They have some low noise amps that will put to shame just about anything else out there.
