Also along these lines, it's not THAT big of deal. It's region and city/county dependent nationwide. The majority of the country will have VHF and UHF systems in place much more often than the 700/800 channels.

Middle of no where (much of the country) are not on 700/800. Those states with statewide trunked systems typically have mutual aid talkgroups available in most/all radios (depending on protocol) which eliminates or reduces the need of the 8xxxx infrastructure.

Of course your mileage will vary.

I think this back and forth is all for nothing. Bottom line is they are reported as still in use, the listings should be returned. If anything they should have been marked as depreciated first.

Here is one of the licenses that was sent to me:
ULS License - PubSafty/SpecEmer/PubSaftyNtlPlan,806-817/851-862MHz,Conv License - WQQW940 - CALIFORNIA, STATE OF

He ONLY valid licenses per the FCC database in California are ONLY present in ththe following counties:

Los Angles
Orange
Riverside
Ventura
San Diego

...which would represent that NSPAC area 5 for SoCal

... which is what I've been saying. As the channels (NPSPAC Mutual Aid and 800 CLEMARS / FIREMARS) are State licensed, I would like to see them in the State listings under CalOES.

The real northern california
you don't say?

The lack of their being listed has already caused problems with jurisdictions who use the RR database to ID frequencies that must be included in Life Safety in-building communications systems.

Did I just see, "uses the RR database" and "for life safety systems" in the same sentence Don? Maybe this is why some of us often find the same errors in some state loads year after year...

Motorola years back came out with a very pointed memo about using this for any form of accurate data.

This is why some of us gets very defensive or pictular when questions onnprogramming radios (specifically trunked radios) come up.

There are many people out in the world who have no clue on how things work and are doing things they shouldn't be doing (innocently or not so innocently) in which why "Scanner land" gets a bad rap.
