(I wasn't sure if this is the best place for this question, or the antenna forum, so mods - please feel free to move this.)

I attempted to buy a SMA female-to-BNC female adapter for my TERA HT on Ebay. It seems that the shipment has been lost in the mail (refund already issued) so now this has given me the opportunity to ask - is there a preferred source out there for adapters like this? I went to Ebay since shipping tends to be "free".

I'm going to wait a couple more days to see if this thing shakes loose from the post office, but if not, I'll be looking for a replacement.

Thanks!

The prices are a little high, the web site is old-fashioned, and the ordering process is a bit antiquated, but The RF Connection (https://rfconnection.com/) will have what your looking for.

Get most of mine on Ebay or at hamfests. Never had any problems.

The key to using eBay is to avoid overseas sellers. I sell on eBay but I mostly purchase from Amazon Prime now.

My first choice for a connector/adapter would be American Radio Supply.

Allied Electronics has virtually every connector or adapter and they carry Amphenol so I use them a lot for small orders

Pasternack if you need something odd. They are not cheap, but they've got just about everything.

Amphenol is a good choice.
Beware the cheap Chinese stuff. Thin plating on the pins, low quality, etc. You get what you pay for.

I find Pan Pacific connectors and adapters are very high quality for cheap prices. Most of the electronic stores here in So Cal carry them. Turns out they are made in China and the guy that owns the Pan pacific factories in China is the brother of the guy that owns Chinese factories that crank out Amphenol connectors and adapters.

I've also purchased many no name connectors and adapters off Ebay direct from China and have always been pleased with the quality and especially the price. You can usually get a good idea of the quality from close up pictures of the connectors paying attention to machining on center pins, type of dielectric, etc.

All these types of connectors and adapters I've mentioned are for my personal use up to 2.5GHz and I would not recommend them for anything higher unless you test them. My professional background dealt with installing and verifying connectors through 40GHz, so I'm a little familiar with identifying good quality stuff.

Thanks all! I ended up at Amazon and found what I needed...except today I got a delivery confirmation of the original adapter I ordered, so I may now be awash in SMA Female to BNC female adapters.

A local shop here carries Pan Pacific and I have not had an issue.

I have also tried other adapters via Amazon and ended up throwing most of them away. Even for RX only they were not acceptable.
