The last time we had POTUS in the state, he went to Stillwater.

This time around AF1 will park at Tinker, so your going to have a motorcade and all that engenders. FBI and SS will be active, but most of that is encrypted. Check out "Federal Frequencies in Oklahoma County" here:

Don't forget about ARTCC freqs ..

Well ya, according to that URL he is not suppose to be here until Sept 12th!

Given the lack of a date in PJM's post I thought the visit was going to be this week some time ..

lol.

Yeah sorry I forgot the date. I saw it in the paper this morning and I was half asleep.

Tinker Security Police will be quite active. Transient Alert will also be active, for sure. Air Force One will use the standard approach frequencies as it arrives and departs.

BTW, where will he be going when he gets here?

A TFR has been posted for VIP movement. Note: there is two NOTAMs, one for ZKC and one for ZFW, but they both say the same thing.

http://tfr.faa.gov/tfr2/list.html

I would assume that the escort is going hop on I-40, but they could roll through MWC or Del City or combos of both. So here is some tips on scanner setup:

Aviation: Center Frequencies are going to be hard to pin down as the flight may come in ZKC or ZFW. But you will want to have OKC TRACON approach in your scanner:

120.45000 - Southeast
124.20000 - Northeast
124.60000 - West (not likely to have VIP traffic on it)

Approach will hand the flight off to Tinker tower:

124.45000 - Tinker tower
121.80000 - Tinker ground (if your close enough)

I have been told that the flight normally will use VHF, but you might want to have UHF too just in case.

What else ...

well the NOTAM said that law enforcement will be allowed to fly in the TFR, so I am sure that OHP will have birds up along with OCPD and then there is the motorcade.

OHP and MWC are on the same systems, so that will be a matter of TG's as opposed to additional frequenies.

OSBI: http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?aid=594
FBI: http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?aid=3364
Del City: http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?aid=400

Anyone think of something else?

AOPA ePilot Special Airspace Bulletin Sept. 12, 2008

==> ATTENTION PILOTS <==

FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER OKLAHOMA CITY ON FRIDAY AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the area during President Bush's planned visit on Friday, September 12. See AOPA Online for a graphical depiction of the temporary flight restriction (TFR) ( http://www.aopa.org/images/whatsnew/newsitems/2008/notams/8-7539.gif ).

==> TFR DETAILS <==

Read AOPA's plain-language notam explanation ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#8/7539-plain ).

View the notam ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#8/7539 ).

Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.

AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner provides graphical depictions of TFRs ( http://www.aopa.org/flight_planner/ ).
Check the FAA's TFR Web site ( http://tfr.faa.gov ).

Download the AOPA Air Safety Foundation's intercept procedures card ( http://download.aopa.org/epilot/2003/intercept.pdf ), and take the online course, "Know Before You Go: Navigating Today's Airspace"

Thought I would speculate and do some internet research to find out where he was going to visit. If you assume that the TFR is centered over his dinner location. Then the POTUS will be eating somewhere along 23rd street. Which I find highly unlikely due to there being no safe location for us "regular" folk to eat at anywhere between western and post road on 23rd.

I copied activity today on three Secret Service channels. They sounded like P25 but it could have been some kind of encryption. Yes, I'm familiar with what P25 sounds like -- and it sounded similar but not enough so for me to say for sure. I figure it could have been P25 encrypted. Regardless, here are the freqs that came active today:

WHCA Sierra - 166.5125
USSS Charlie - 165.375
USSS Oscar - 164.8875

I am not going to submit these to the database since I don't know if they are regular repeaters or temporary ones.
