The Uniden Home Patrol 2 is down to $379.99 on Amazon, sold and shipped by Amazon. Lowest price ever according to Camel Camel Camel. If Amazon charges tax in your state, E&B Electronics also has it for $379.99 (no tax in NYS). Also, if you have a Discover Card, you can get 5% cash back. Furthermore, if you have double cash back, that would be 10% cash back. Bottom line, I was able to get the HP-2 for $341.99 after Discover Deals Cash Back (need to wait a year for the double CB). Good deal, IMHO.

I've had my eyes on the 436 but since the HP2 isn't much more looking into getting it. Pros or Cons getting the HP2 over 436? Just looking for some feedback before I make my final call

I own both, in addition to owing a 536. The x36 series radios have hot receivers, although to be honest my HP-2 works just fine in the car with the windshield mount. I have an Austin Spectra in the car, and the HP2 does just fine.

If you are going to use it mobile, the hp2 screen is a lot easier to read. I also have both, and both are good receivers. HP2 is my personal favorite. I own two.

The Uniden x36 scanners are said to have more front end filtering than the HP-2. Which you might never notice the lack of in the HP-2 UNLESS you live in a high-density, RF overloaded noisy environment with lots of agencies on closely spaced adjacent channels. Even then, there are persons here on RR that claim it's not a problem... but some have noticed the HP-2 is more susceptible to unwanted signals in certain environments.
