I noticed it is your first post, welcome on RR scannerkid

I don't know how familiar you are with this and certainly don't mean to "lecture" you on it, but I just thought I let you know in case you don't.

Even if it is legal in the US to do so, in Canada, as per The radiocommunications act of Canada article 9 (1) and (2) , it is illegal to rebroadcast over the Internet, or any other way in fact, a radiocommunication intercepted and/or decoded thru a scanner or any other devices ...

For you to decide .... but you should also know that the feds (RCMP) are sensitive about that ...

Even if it was not made public, I was aware of a recent case In Quebec where Industry Canada stop someone broadcasting a police department radiocommunication over the Internet.... Don't know if he was charge of something or not.

Here's the link for article 9. Radiocommunication Act

There is nothing illegal about identyfing the frequencies but broadcasting them ... hummmmm

Keep it low profile an not always announcing it, and you should be fine. I've had one online for a number of years now along with a few others and none have encountered any problems. Theres a few online from Canada. Welcome aboard.

And why is it all of a sudden offline. you just announced it here.

It would be fine as long as they are able to get permission to have the feed online.

(2) Except as prescribed, no person shall intercept and make use of, or intercept and divulge, any radiocommunication, except as permitted by the originator of the communication or the person intended by the originator of the communication to receive it.

I would seriously doubt that the RCMP would agree to that !!!

You only get caught if your doing something illegal. If this were illegal, there would've been many of these shut down, and not that many have been requested to be shut down. (note: there's a difference of being shut down, and being requested to shut down).

We know where it's at now, if they haven't bookmarked it by now, then too bad. If people wanna know more, pm them instead of putting it out here.

The Dept of Highways are on the PICS trunk system, 3 talkgroups , one for each county. Talk groups are 100-1 100-2 100-3(assuming custom fleetmap size code of 2 for block 1)

I dont have a trunking scanner, but the scanner i'm getting is able to pick up the 800mhz. If i program in the 5 local voice channels and 1 control channel, will i still be able to listen to the trunk system?

I know it would be hard to follow a certain conversation, but could it be done and would it work?

Yes it will work. There are 9 Island wide voice channels per site. just program in the set for the site you receive the best. You dont want to program in the control channel, it is just constant data. When the system is busy it will be hard to follow, courier companies, oil delivery, construction companies, lots of farmers, school buses etc.... so it might be hard to figure out who you are listening to and hard to follow a specific conversation.

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND Provincial Integrated Communication System

What are the Local/Site Trunking channels for?

I know the Island Wide/Simulcast are voice channels, Because there are 9 of them..

Also, on that website, the talk group ID's chart, where it shows what you can listen to, will i pick up all of them on that list, or only some of them?

I am familiar with that page, I provided Bill with a lot of that info. The local site channels are just repeated at that one site, much the same as a conventional repeater. The original plan would have been to assign a user to their local site. For example if a farmer in Souris never left the Souris area why repeat his radio traffic on every tower all the way to Tignish. The Dept of transport used to have many talk groups , one or more for each site. It just became confusing to have to keep changing "channels" as they went in and out of range so eventually they just programmed them as island wide and then the user never had to worry about where they were, the talkgroup worked everywhere. There are very few users left still on single site, mainly farmers, a few on Pisquid, Caledonia and few west. I havent heard any single site users on GlenValley in many years. The norm now is program a user as island wide.

That list is Island wide users so yes you will get them all. There are several in that list that are no longer users on the system , charlottetown and DFO have system to vhf systems.
