Prince William Co. no buses please

I'm an old scanner but a new Pro 96 user. Love it but am trying to figure out how to listen to Police and Fire without hearing the school bus drivers. They all use the same trunking system. Is there any way of locking out the buses and still hearing the rest ?

What you need to do is program in the Talk Group ID's for the police/fire, then FUNC+5 the bank to be in Closed mode. In closed mode (- on the display under the bank number instead of +), the scanner only stops on talk groups you've programmed in.

The talk group ID's are probably listed in this site's RR Database.

Where do I program the ID's ? Do I just do it in the current bank ? It seems to already have ID's.

Starts on Page 39 of the O/M. If TGID's are programmed in already, you should be able to limit the scanner to only what is programmed in by putting that bank in closed mode (see above and Page 92 of the O/M).
