How come in our local county listings we can't have the option to print the page (in the pdf format), unlike all the one's that deal with major urban centres or areas that include trunking?

Probably because someone has gone to the trouble to create .pdf files for more populated areas. You're always free (and encouraged) to make and submit new content.

You are correct. There are reports that are generated in PDF format for donating members. I am a little confused by your original post however. There are no reports I am aware of that are specific to metro areas. All TRS systems can be printed, this is because they are all the same format and for the most part lengthy. Most counties are smaller and formats vary from county to county. You can, of course, copy and paste into your own documents. :)

Take this for example.

http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=4302 I can't print that page in a pdf format.

But http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=2560 that one I can.

Also, i forgot to login when asking why the database was opened up. And that was Lindsay's decision. How is the site supposed to get donations when everything is opened up for free. Plus then why bother getting a username for the forums.

I don't mind that I made a donation to the website. But the only thing I find usefull is the fact of printing those pages in the pdf format and when you first login, all your own areas that you wanna watch show up right up front.

How about email alerts. Could we be notified of when these pages change without having to first visit the page to see it's changed at the left hand side.

This is a link to what we call an "agency" page. So far, these do not have a print option for anybody. Dunno why, but we can find out ..

It would not be a donation if you were forced to pay for it, would it? :) Instead, the correct word to use would be "fee".

The goal here is that because the information is free from the gitgo .. we hope that ppl are compelled to donate out of the kindness of thier heart to help keep the site going. In exchange for a donation, donating members get access to some site goodies such as TRS printing and system monitoring via your custom front page, and ect.
Plus then why bother getting a username for the forums.
How else are we to get to know anyone if everybodys posting name is "guest"?

Great, if we can look into that. It'd be nice to print out the conventional stuff as well.

All the rest I understand.

A web site named Watch That Page you can sign up for (is currently free) and will allow you to enter in web sites to watch and when the content has changed, the site will send you an email telling you a change in the site you are watching and will give you a link to the specific page where changes have been made.

Give this a try, you might like it !

In addition, only this fourm allows you to post as a guest (maybe the Tavern I can't remember now) so if you wanted to take part in discussions, you would have to register. Also, unless you register, you can't get your dontation tied to a user name; hence you wouldn't be able to get any printed reports, or use the web download or ... well you get the idea.
