• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Is a priority tech link account the least expensive way to gain access to manuals and firmware for l3harris products? I’d like to have access to all manuals and firmware for my radios without a lengthy hint but my dealer is quoting me $3k for the account. Is there a less expensive option? I didn’t expect it to be cheap, but that’s more than I paid for all of my radios put together!

Thanks,
Brian

L3HARRIS Techkink access isn't cheap! Neither is access to a Premier account.

Lol ya I expected it to be four digits, but not $3k! What else do you get aside from manuals and firmware? Hopefully it’s more than just those things!

What radios?

Have you checked the manual website?
I think it's manualslib.com
I’m mainly looking for firmware updates and feature specific manuals for the XG100M… and I’m toying with the idea of getting an XL200P soon. All of my other radios are old enough that they aren’t receiving feature updates via firmware, and the manuals for portable radios are pretty inclusive… I’ve just had a few occasions with the 100M where the manual says “for more info, reference XXX feature manual XXX-XXX-XXX” and then I’m hunting! There are some really nice people here, but I would eventually like to have a direct line to what I need!

I'd like access to their training. Plus manuals. I can't honestly figure how to crack it without stroking a fat, huge check.

Their TechLink? I'm sure the FBI has been monitoring your efforts LOL!

Ya. The training would be awesome! Maybe I’ll bite the bullet once my business license goes through! I’m putting together a small P25 Conventional setup with all the bells and whistles I can figure out how to configure lol! Right now I can do iCalls, AES, and emergency calls. I’m trying to figure out if I can do status and messages in a conventional setting... it seems to depend on what Harris radio I’m using. The 100M can do pretty much everything in P25 Conventional where the P7100 for instance, has many of the same features, but it seems you can only use them in a trunked system :-(. I’m really learning a lot about RPM and how to configure various settings… Thank God the help system in RPM is so comprehensive! If I had access to every manual and teaching tool Harris makes, it would be AWESOME!
