Privacy Codes

Does anyone know if there is any way to have my scanner tell me which of the 38 analog privacy codes a VHF/MURS radio is using?
I have a Pro96, if that makes a difference.

Those should be the CTCSS codes. Look in your manual to see how to display the code being transmitted by the station you're listening to. (Having the Pro-96 does make a difference - some scanners don't decode CTCSS tones.)

When you are on the frequency, press the MODE button until it displays CT in the upper right corner.

The next time they talk, the CTCSS tone will be displayed on the bottom.

If it doesn't work, then try to press the MODE button again until DC. That will display the digital tone they are using.

I found info about Code Search on pp 20-21 of the manual, but I couldn't figure out how to actually do it for some reason!
I want to configure my Kenwood TK2100s to work with some I*Coms at work.
Once I get the tone code from my Pro96, I should be able to look that up in the tables from the radio manual, right?

Well, now your starting to tread thin ice. If you were an authorized user, you'd know the code.

That's neither here nor there, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Don't program radios for systems that you're not authorized to transmit on.

Codes

Well, I'm not sure I'd call it a system, really.
They are the radios we use at work (I'm in education at a public school).
In any case, they are MURS frequencies - absolutely no license or authorization required ... nor can authorization be denied.
It's a non-issue.
We just got the new radios and they arrived with the Privacy Code enabled - we weren't using Privacy Codes before (rural district, no other traffic).
I already checked them, BTW, and they are all on Privacy Code 1 (which is, of course, the default setting).
I probably should've just started with the default instead of making this so hard on myself!

Follow what Rescue161 told you. But, when they are talking and your scanner displays the code, hit the ENTER key to save that code to the channel. That way, you won't have to remember it.

That's cool, I misunderstood until you said it was MURS. No problem.
